Working Together

“It just makes me happy that they’ll -they’ll have the skill to teach their kids, and their friends, and their family or even you know, possibly make a living of it”

To dehair or not to dehair

“Just seeing them be able to be out on the land and to enjoy nature rather than have, you know, games or a tv in front of their face. It’s relaxing, it’s peaceful, and it’s another proud, proud moment”

MMIWG2S

“My family went and sang with the group on the National Day of Awareness. It was good to get out, and it’s good to show support because it happens- happens every day. It just happened in Winnipeg, but it literally happens everywhere, every day.”

Making Rims, Making Memories

“Me and Fire Bear/wahanksica petal would do like little or small like woodworking or other projects or things like this, but it was so nice with everybody there because a lot of people never use power tools or sanders or anything for that matter, so it was good to see some of the creativity. It was awesome because E said he’s never done it before, and he’s like, “Dad, I love working with my hands”. And I couldn’t forget that.”

Teaching Younger Generations

“Glittering Hawk Boy/cetan wiyakpakpa hoksid really looks up to his older brother, Fire Bear/wahanksica petal, and Fire Bear/wahanksica petal’s a great role model so monkey see, monkey do”
